Being out only since high school graduation, last August I was excited to finally get the chance to be able to embrace every part of me and meet people who I could actually relate to...But, unfortunately, that has proven difficult. I befriended two fellow lesbians first semester at a National Coming Out Day party (run by my college's terribly run GSSA) but they turned out to be crap friends- denying they were gay just to mess with me and then trying to publicly embarrass me. Since then, I have tried to contact my school's GSSA through emails trying to clarify the locations of the meetings and have received no replies. The few events I managed to go to encouraged no socializing among attendees or even anyone to sign up and join the club. I plan on going to an event tomorrow anyway because I'm really just out of options. I mean I can't sit here and complain and not even try...I'm also going to a gay club with a good straight friend of mine next week but can't get my hopes up....
Don't get me wrong- I have a great friend group here at my college, but they're not enough. I need some GAY friends, male or female!! GEEZZZZ
It's weird, I made an "It Gets Better" Video earlier this year but although things definitely have gotten better since high school, I can't say I have the friends I want. I chose to go to school in Birmingham because I thought it'd be the best place to meet people.
NOW WHAT?!
Oh and I never put anything personal on my tumblr. First time for everything.
Jenna Anne- “Heart”…Let’s finally get this girl on Ellen- she deserves it. Share this vid all over the web, people.
“Emily and Maya’s relationship isn’t gratifying because it’s gay. Or because of whatever shipper thing. Emily and Maya’s relationship is gratifying because Emily lived through the winter, because we saw her falling down and getting up and dusting herself off and falling down some more and getting up some more and growing, growing, growing into this Emily. And so when Emily told Maya she loved her and kissed her like fifteen kinds of hungry, it wasn’t about winning a shipping war or placating a minority; it was about an authentic, well-rounded, complicated, lovable character doing the most natural thing in the world — with another woman.” - Heather Hogan, Afterellen.com (Pretty Little Liars Recap 2.18)
